New Zealand 1960s-1970s Retro soccer kit
New Zealand soccer international team take their nickname- the 'All-Whites'- take their nickname from the colour of their strip. They were not allowed to follow in the tradition of the rugby 'All-Black' strip, as it resembles the international colour for soccer referees, so they opted to go for a totally different look. They finally qualified for their first World Cup entry in 1982 after a long series of competitions. First, they won the Oceania Qualification group They then went on to play in a 5 international team Round Robin tournament beating China to the qualification position after finishing joint top. New Zealand lost all 3 of their World Cup games against Scotland, the Soviet Union and not surprisingly, Brazil. The international team only managed to score 2 goals in the tournament against Scotland but as it was their first World Cup entry, even that was seen as an achievement by many fans. This kit is short sleeved and made from 100% cotton
