USA 1924 Vintage Rugby uniform. After winning gold at the Summer Olympics of 1920, the United States successfully defended their crown, defeating France in the final by a score of 17-5. After the game day, rugby union was banned from the Olympics due to crowd trouble, with one USA player being knocked out unconscious after being struck by a walking stick. So much for rugby being the gentleman’s game.
